Thrifty Car Rentals at Chania Airport

Crete is a wonderful island that has plenty to explore and what better way than with a hire car. Chania is an authentically Cretan city on the north coast of the island. It has over 5000 years of history so there is much to discover within the city itself too. If you want beaches then you can take your pick - from small secluded coves to bustling energetic stretches. The Samaria gorge, the longest gorge in Europe, is only and hour and a half's drive from Chania and makes for a great day hike. Less than half an hour away is Aptera with its fascinating ruins and splendid views.

Thrifty have the backing of a major brand name as they are part of the Hertz group. Their focus is on the mid-range market as their wide ranging fleet tends to be a little older than that of Hertz. They are popular with holiday makers as their desks are often in very convenient locations. At Chania airport you will need to take a shuttle bus to collect your car but the service runs regularly and is a very short ride.

Through Clarify Car Hire there are two different packages available with Thrifty. The standard package will include the main insurances but you will be liable for the full excess amount. If you opt for the Super Collision Damage Waiver package then the excess and security deposits are reduced. Thrifty offer a range of extras which can be included in your car hire package and these include child seats, roof racks and navigational systems.

Transfer Details

The rental desk is located outside Airport Arrivals Hall. A free shuttle bus is provided every 5 minutes. For out-of-hours service (21:00 until 7:59) please go to Hertz Desk in the arrivals hall.
