
Debit Card Car Hire at Vancouver Airport







Debit/Check Card Rentals – Debit/check cards are accepted at Airport locations in Canada. To use a debit/check card, proof of a confirmed round trip travel ticket (airline, cruise ship or train) must be shown. Without this, debit or check cards are only accepted as a form of payment at time of return. On one way rentals, the renters must show proof of a confirmed travel ticket matching the pick-up and return locations.
Cash Rentals - Cash only (not a debit card) are accepted at certain corporate airport locations. Cash is not accepted at any non-airport locations in Canada. In order to qualify for a cash rental, the renter must show a valid passport and proof of a confirmed round trip airline ticket (airline, cruise ship or train). Without this proof, cash can only be accepted as a form of payment at time of return. Cash deposits are not accepted for any one-way rentals. Cash qualifications may vary by location and are subject to change.
When paying a deposit in cash or by debit card, the following amounts are required:
* The renter must make a cash deposit with Alamo in the amount of $25 per day or $100 per week in addition to the estimated charges for the rental.
In some circumstances, cash deposits may be returned to the renter's home address in the form of a CAD cheque.
Please be aware that if you use your debit card for the security deposit and/or the fuel deposit it can take up to 30 days for this to reach your account once it has been refunded by the car hire supplier at the end of the rental. This is due to international banking systems not due to delays by either the car rental company or Clarify Car Hire.
