Salzburg W.A. Mozart airport first opened its currect terminal building in 1966 and by the year 2000 passenger numbers were up to 1.6 million. Eurowings added Salzburg as their second base in Austria in 2016 offering flights to 6 European destinations from 2017. Salzburg is a popular destination and this is reflected in the number of airlines running services here. These include large carriers such as British Airways, and budget airlines like easyJet. The majority of destinations are within Europe but there are also connecting flights to Los Angeles, Beijing and Singapore.
Where are the car hire desks at Salzburg airport?
The car hire desks are all located on the ground floor of the car park just across the road from the terminal building. Follow the car rental signs which will lead you along a covered path to the desks. It is only a very short walk.
At Salzburg Airport
There are a number of eating places to choose from at Salzburg airport. Fast food restaurants if you're in a hurry, coffee shops for lighter bites and more formal restaurants too. If you need Wifi, this is free. Just select 'Freewave' on your device. There is a newsagents for books, magazines and snacks and of course duty free shopping. A bank with cash machine is located before security in Terminal 1.

Interrent are a low-cost car hire company that operate across Europe. They have a small range of slightly older vehicles but offer mostly on airport offices for a great value price.
