Queen Alia airport is named after the third wife of King Hussein who died in a helicopter crash in 1977. The airport is situated 30 km from the Jordanian capital Amman so conveniently located if you are heading there on business. Many airlines operate out of Queen Alia airport including Lufthansa, Air France and Alitalia. British airways also has flights direct from London Heathrow. There are car hire desks in the public area on the Arrivals level 01 of the terminal. Other companies may offer a meet and greet service where a shuttle bus service will be provided to take you to an office off airport where you can collect your car. Always ensure you have all the correct paperwork with you especially as you may need to telephone your chosen car hire on arrival to book your shuttle. You will also need your driving licence and credit card.
