All major debit and credit cards, issued by either Visa, Mastercard or American Express, are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. Cash, checks, prepaid cards, Diners Club and Discover Card are not accepted. For all cars and SUVs of the categories Mini, Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard, Small People Carriers and Vans a debit or credit card is required. A valid credit card is required to rent Large People Carriers, Compact Elite, Full Size SUVs, Premium, Luxury, and Executive vehicles.
Renters with residence in the UK who wish to use a debit card will need to pass an online address check as verification of residence at their given address. Any customer failing the check will not be allowed to rent.
Airports Only - Debit cards are accepted at the time of hire with a round-trip plane ticket or flight itinerary that shows the renters name and discloses the return date. Airport locations only serve deplaning customers. If using a payment source registered outside of the United Kingdom, this location cannot be responsible for any fluctuations in the currency exchanges while the deposit is being held.
Please note, if you do not bring the correct documentation or you fail any check you will not be able to hire the vehicle. In these cases you will not be refunded the small deposit you paid Clarify Car Hire when booking the rental. You will not be liable for any further costs.
Please be aware that if you use your debit card for the security deposit and/or the fuel deposit it can take up to 30 days for this to reach your account once it has been refunded by the car hire supplier at the end of the rental. This is due to international banking systems not due to delays by either the car rental company or Clarify Car Hire.
Please note that payment for the rental or deposit via a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay etc. will not be accepted at the hire desk. The lead driver must present a physical payment card in their name.

If using a Debit Card, you must opt for Budget's Excess Waiver Package on Clarify Car Hire to reduce your financial responsibility to zero in case of vehicle theft or damage. Please note, Budget do not accept the following debit cards: Revolut, Monzo and prepaid, travel or currency cards. You can only use a credit card for Budget's Standard Package. PIN-enabled cards will require your PIN for authorization. Specified value/pre-paid Payment Cards will not be accepted.
Please note, if you use a debit card any deposit may take up to thirty days to be returned depending on the issuing bank of the card and neither Budget or Clarify Car Hire take any responsibility if the amount returned is not the same as the amount taken due to exchange rate fluctuations and/or bank charges.

To collect your car, Drivalia will require a pre-authorisation deposit on a credit card in the name of the main driver. Alternatively, you can purchase an excess waiver package with a credit or debit card. Please note, that payment by debit card requires the excess to be reduced to zero.
Should a client only have a debit card, then a Relax Zero Excess protection package must be taken. There is no option to rent cars using a debit card from Drivalia without taking their Relax Zero insurance.
Debit cards cannot be used for Luxury/Premium categories (EX/MX Groups)
If you are a UK resident using a debit card, you must also agree to and pass a credit check/provide proof of employment.
Drivalia UK branches accept physical credit and debit cards as well as union pay. Payment cards that expire within two months of the end of the hire are not acceptable.
