Debit cards are accepted except for Full Size SUVs, Large Passenger Vans and Cars of the categories Elite, Full size, Premium, Luxury and Executive which will require a credit card. Renters with residence in the UK who wish to use a debit card will need to pass an online address check as verification of residence at their given address. Any customer failing the check will not be allowed to rent.
Airports Only - Debit cards are accepted at the time of rental with a round-trip plane ticket or flight itinerary that shows the renter's name and discloses the return date. Debit cards are not accepted from local customers. Local renters must present a valid credit card in the renter's name. If using a payment source registered outside of the United Kingdom, this location cannot be responsible for any fluctuations in the currency exchanges while the deposit is being held.
Please be aware that if you use your debit card for the security deposit and/or the fuel deposit it can take up to 30 days for this to reach your account once it has been refunded by the car hire supplier at the end of the rental. This is due to international banking systems not due to delays by either the car rental company or Clarify Car Hire.


All cards must be valid until at least the month after the rental and must be in the Lead Driver’ Name.
Please note, for local hirers to be accepted for use of a debit card they must follow the above plus, be over the age of 25 years and employed, providing proof of address and employment. (Wage Slips plus utility bills are required). Debit card users will also need to pass a credit check, if this is failed or the hirer refuses the credit check then a credit card will be required.
If a local renter (within 20 miles of a branch), they must have a credit card with a sufficient credit to preauthorise the deposit and the Hirer must agree to bringing wage slips and 2 utility bills which are dated within three months of the hire and take Excess Wavier (to Zero). If a local hirer refuses to bring these documents and only has a debit card, then the rental cannot go ahead.
There is no option to rent cars using a debit card from Drivalia without taking their Relax Zero insurance.
Cash and Prepaid Credit Cards are not allowed under any circumstances. Debit cards cannot be used for Luxury/Premium categories (EX/MX Groups).
