Discover Centauro Rent a Car
Centauro have a loyal following of customers, we look at the advantages of hiring with them
Centauro Rent a Car were founded in 1973 and began their journey as the ‘go to’ car rental firm for hirers in Benidorm. Since then, they have expanded across Spain to Alicante, Valencia, Torrevieja, Murcia, Málaga, Mallorca, Ibiza, Barcelona, Seville, Bilbao, Santiago de Compostela, Zaragoza and Madrid. This rollout of locations has secured Centauro as a customer favourite for those travelling to Spain, with renters returning to them year after year.
Since 2016, Centauro have set their sights further afield expanding into other European countries. This began with Portugal where they now have offices in Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Madeira. Portugal has long been a popular destination with UK holidaymakers. Its family-friendly towns, beaches and flight time (plus of course the wonderful weather!) mean many of us return year after year.
Italy has also been added to Centauro Rent a Car’s location list with offices now in Rome Ciampino, Rome Fiumcino, Milan Malpensa, Bergamo, Bologna and Pisa on the mainland. Sardinia is catered for with Olbia and Cagliari, and Sicily with Palermo and Catania. 2019 saw the expansion into another European country with Athens and Thessaloniki on mainland Greece, Chania and Heraklion on the island of Crete and Corfu, Kefalonia, Rhodes and Santorini.
Centauro’s loyal following of customers is unsurprising. They offer really wide range of good, and often nearly new, cars and are able to help customers that many other rental firms cannot. For example, in all countries they operate in, hirers can use debit cards with Centauro’s Standard and SMART Zero Excess packages.
Their SMART Zero Excess product is one of the most comprehensive in the market, covering not only the excess but also punctures and damage to the tyres and rims, locks, undercarriage, windows, windscreen and clutch. These additional areas are excluded from the excess insurance offered by the car hire company in the majority of cases, making Centauro’s SMART cover one of the few that’s really worth considering. It’s particularly worth thinking about if you’d rather not leave a large deposit on your payment card as this cover waives the deposit amount to €0 in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece.
When speaking to customers we’ve heard from many who have used Centauro in Spain or Portugal that weren’t aware of Centauro’s presence across Europe. Whichever country you hire in from Centauro you’ll receive the same brilliant perks listed above, including the option to use a debit card, low deposits and low excesses when taking the SMART cover as well as a modern, wide range of vehicles.
