The islands just off Dubrovnik are beautiful and easily accessible by ferries that go to and from them throughout the day. The food and drink scene in Dubrovnik is incredible, there's so much choice and the city is full of atmosphere both in the day and evening.
Hvar
Hvar is one of the many Dalmatian islands off the coast of Croatia and is a gorgeous little paradise. Not only does it boast great weather most days of the year it has both cultural and natural beauty to explore. The medieval fortress, Fortica, rises above the harbour and is worth visiting, as are the Franciscan Monastery and St Stephen's Cathedral. When it comes to natural beauty, there are fields and fields of olive trees, vineyards and lavender which are absolutely gorgeous to visit should you get chance.
